Ken's Raw Creation
Wow!! I decided to make a salad with what I had in the house and it turned out amazing. The best raw dish yet. The only thing I had help with was the dressing. I am starting to see that raw food eating is about being creative and trying out combinations.
This salad was: lettuce, sweet corn, red pepper, cucumber, avocado, sunflower seeds, and homemade dressing.
Raw Stuffed Pepper
Really fresh tasting! The green pepper took some getting used too in that quantity. I would use red peppers next time. The stuffing is sunflower seeds, celery, and spices.
Green Juice
Kale and Banana. The first green juice I made had 1 banana, 1 Mango, and Kale. It was amazingly good. This one wasn't the same but OK.

Raw Hummus
Raw Zucchini Hummus (yields over 3 cups; you can easily cut this recipe in half)
2 zucchini, chopped
½ cup lemon juice
1 tsp salt
1 ½ tsp cumin
1 cup raw tahini (the Artisana brand is nice; substitute regular tahini if you need to)
4 tbsp olive oil
½ cup raw sesame seeds
½ cup lemon juice
1 tsp salt
1 ½ tsp cumin
1 cup raw tahini (the Artisana brand is nice; substitute regular tahini if you need to)
4 tbsp olive oil
½ cup raw sesame seeds
Raw Crackers
These are still drying. Made them a little too thick. Also, the dehydrator only has one flat tray not made of lattice. Oh well. Need to order more.

Pine Nut Salad
This is a test of raw recipes. My official raw start date is Monday 8.20.12. I will be juicing for breakfast and lunch and eating raw for dinner. I am excited to begin but nervous as well. I am not sure what all I will eat but we"ll see.
This recipe was pretty simple. Basically 2 parts. Part one was Raw Pine Nuts, Fresh Basil, Salt and Pepper. Part two was fresh Tomatoes.

Weight
At my heaviest I was at 274 lbs. The picture on the right is after being vegetarian for 4 months. Not sure what the weight was for the pic on the left. You can see what a difference juicing made. Now I am 250 lbs..
Raw Food
I started out by looking at a bumper sticker. It was a typical liberal one about eating healthy. I decided at that moment to become a vegetarian. That was over 6 months ago. Now I am starting a raw food diet. I have been juicing for 2 months and I feel pretty good. I have lost about 20 lbs. but want to reach my ideal weight, around 200 lbs.. I am interested to see if eating raw will give me more energy. I did a juice fast for 3 days and the energy I felt was amazing. I am not sure how to go about a raw lifestyle and I only have 2 recipes so far. One is hummus and the other is salad dressing, both raw. My goal is to be "high raw" not 100% raw.
